Bullying Claims Life of Virginia Youth

Bulling in school's have gotten so bad that it lead an 11 year old child to commit suicide. Once the incident happened the school's have been noticing bulling more, when they didn't before.

I think this story was interesting because someone so young did that to themselves, and because of school bulling. I don't think it should be going on, and anyone who see's it should do there best to stop it from happening.

Beaverton: Japan Earthquake/Tsunami Relief Concert

This article is about school's in Beaverton coming together to make a concert to help fund/raise money for Japan's tsunami Relief. There will be over 200 students joining in song. The concert is free, but they will collect donations because that will benefit the Japanese people through Mercy Corps.

I liked this article because the student's/school's are helping out other countries, and will hopefully make a difference. Also impact kids for there future and such.

Funding Crisis for Planned Parenthood

The planned parenthood is getting is getting no Medicaid reimbursement's, now because of a new state law that might pass. Betty Cockrum from planned parenthood in India said it's not clear if the provider can serve it's 9,300 medical clients without payment.

I think this story is interesting because they don't know what they'll do, and they can't afford to do it themselves.

US: Build Healthier Food Culture

With American kids getting bigger, some programs are trying to get them to make healthier choices. Kids around 8 and 9 are in a math class where they are learning how to create combination's, and the teacher decided to gave examples with spinach and eggplant's. Some teachers have found a way to include healthy food while teaching math and English. They believe that if kids are exposed to a positive and healthy message about food, that maybe in there future they will eat healthier, and it will make a long term change.

In the US alone childhood obesity has tripled during the past 30 years. They believe the more kids talk about food topics and vocabulary, there better they are to make nutritional choices.

This is not so much violence in schools, but it did relate to schools. I thought this story was interesting, because they are helping kids to make the right choices. So in there future they will make better ones instead (hopefully).

Country to country..

In Libya, there seems to be alot of school violence going on, not even just in school's but allover Libya as well. Mainly because the country's president, Muammar al-Gaddafi has denied to step down. From some reports there have been about 300 people that were taken out of Libya, by ferry. They could only take one bag, so many of there belonging were left behind.

Mr. Sexton said, "Our fear was that the violence would spread to the neighborhood where they lived. There's no telling in that situation what would happen,"

It seems to be getting quite dangerous over there, and they are trying there best to get to the U.S. To be safe, and keep there children safe. I wonder myself how dangerous it is over there, and what's happens to be going on.
